On another site someone posed the question of what will be the better name to go with when purchasing a domain name. Holograms, Holographics, or Holo.
I tend to view it this way. Holograms (either witch way you want to say it) are not common place right now. The technology is still being built and perfected but we are still years away until the time that is readily available to the average consumer.
I think in the beginning as this technology is being introduced it will be referred as "Holographic" that produces "Hologram" images. Holographic will be the actual term used for the marketing or implementation of the images which will be referred to as Holograms.
Once the time comes when Holographic technology is fairly common place (such as 3D is today), you will see a gradual push to streamline the name (as we generally tend to do) to Holo.
As of this moment, if you take the average person and ask them about Holo images or Holo cameras... they will probably first think that you are saying the wold "Hollow" (empty/not solid). They wont have any clue that your are referring to Holograms or Holographic equipment.
That is just my prediction of the future trend of the Holographic market.
